Nobody legitimate needs the words

A telegram seed phrase scam is simple. Someone wants the twelve or twenty-four words that are the wallet. They will not say "give me the wallet." They will say verify, restore, report, whitelist, or recover.

If those words leave your head, the wallet is theirs. There is no ticket. There is no undo. A report after the fact is hygiene. It is not a refund. How to report a scam on Telegram comes after you stop talking.

Real support does not need your seed. Ever. Not Telegram. Not a chain. Not a "security team." Not a bot wearing a cat.

The costume

Telegram crypto scams rarely look like cartoons. A telegram seed phrase scam looks like urgency plus a helper.

They will tell you not to paste in the public chat. That sentence is how they feel safe. The private form is the drain.

What a seed phrase actually is

Those words are the wallet. Not a password you can reset. Not a 2FA code. Not a "backup for Telegram." Telegram accounts do not use BIP39 phrases. A bot that wants a seed to "secure your Telegram" is lying about the product.

If you already typed the words anywhere:

1. Stop. Do not send more.
2. Treat that wallet as burned. Move what you can from a new wallet you created offline, if anything is left and you still control a device that was not the one you pasted into.
3. Do not "verify" a second time on a page they send.
4. Report the handle. Block it.
5. Ignore recovery DMs. They saw the first hit.

If nothing is left, sit. The next message is the second scam.

What never to type

• The twelve or twenty-four words
• A "first and last word" check (they will ask for the middle next)
• A screenshot of the phrase
• A "partial restore" to prove you own it
• A QR of the seed
• An export of a keystore they offered to "review"

A connect-wallet prompt is a cousin, not a twin. Signing "permit" or "increase allowance" can drain without the words. Close it. Telegram phishing uses both doors.

How to sit so the costume has no air

1. Type official handles yourself. Do not tap a link in a telegram trading group.
2. Admins do not DM first about wallets. If they do, they are not the admin. Ban. Report.
3. Keep group bots as members, not admins.
4. Never "verify" to claim, restore, or report.
5. If a page wants the words, the page is the attack.

A useful telegram member will say this once and sit. Repeating it as a radio is how rooms get numb. One boring pattern interrupt beats twenty "NFA" replies.
